Poul Morton Jessen Daybed

Daybed designed by Poul Morton Jessen for PMJ Møbler, Denmark 1950’s.

A very interesting piece, we haven’t been able to track down anything similar made by PMJ. So this piece could definitely be a very rare, if not a one-of-a-kind item. Beautiful V-shaped legs made from oak, the entire frame of the daybed is made from solid wood and not particle board like most modern furniture pieces.

The daybed has been reupholstered in a light green fabric , Vadal UNI941, from Gudbrandsdalens Uldvarefabrik which is made from 100% pure Norwegian wool and manufactured in Norway. The foam has been replaced and the legs taken apart, sanded, reglued and refinished.

Please note, due to the grain orientation on one leg, a split in the wood has been repaired in our workshop but this does not have any bearing on the strength of the leg and can be seen in the photos.

Really great condition and a piece that you won’t come across again.
